Contemporary Vietnamese, Pre-intermediate level (Part time)
|
Contemporary Vietnamese, Pre-intermediate level, is a general Vietnamese course, aimed at enabling learners to communicate successfully in both spoken and written Vietnamese at pre-intermediatelevel. The course will be conducted by bilingual teachers from Vietnam, who possess teaching qualifications, rich language-teaching experience, noble teachers’ qualities, and most importantly, speak standard Vietnamese. Learners will develop integrated language skills during the course and will be able to speak, listen, read and write pre-intermediate-level Vietnamese by the end of the course.

| Targeted Participants |
Adult foreign learners who have completed c contemporary Vietnamese, Basic level at Cambridge Institute, or those who can communicate in simple Vietnamese language and wish to improve their language skills for different personal purposes. |

In this course, students will further develop their Vietnamese language knowledge, socio-cultural awareness of Vietnam, communicative skills, and conversational confidence. More popular topics such as Traveling, Transportation, Entertainment, Services, Health Care, Sports, and so on will be covered. Students will experience socio-cultural tours to Vietnam during lessons. In addition to systematic basic language skills like requesting, offering, inviting, accepting, refusing, and so on, students are going to improve higher language skills as well as their social-interpersonal skills through basic in-class discussions, debates, and presentations. By the end of the course, students should be able to write 200-word composition on different given topics.

Methodology |
| |
Students will be engaged in different situational and communicative language activities such as role play, interviews, information gap, games, language exchanges, survey, pair work, grammar quizzes and so on. Teachers will analyze students’ needs, set contexts and design tasks for students to practise the language.

Teaching Materials |
| |
Text books are professionally designed and written by a professional team of linguistic experts and language teachers from National University of Vietnam and the Institute of Vietnam Studies and Science Development, following the communicative approach in language teaching. The books are targeted at adult foreign learners and were published in 2004 in Vietnam by the World Publishing House.

Certificate of Attendance |
| |
Participants who have attained an attendance rate of 90% and above will be presented with certification of completion. Students’ portfolios, including all students’ papers, assessment sheets and tests, will be given back to students by the end of the course.

All of our teachers are native speakers from Vietnam, who hold Master or Bachelor degrees in language teaching or in other relevant fields. Their qualifications have been approved by MOE. They communicate in both Vietnamese and English. They are enthusiastic, responsible, and dedicated.
